Bogor

I had planned to have late sleep in, but a work colleague would have none of it and insisted I be ready to rock and roll by 7am.  The stupid git was right of course, otherwise I would have missed this!

Bogor is a busy city to the south of Jakarta and whilst it started off cooler, it soon became warmer than Jakarta in my opinion.

Wait a minute, is that deer?

Yip, no mistaking it!  Apparently there was an attempt to relocate some from here (the presidential palace) to the grounds of Monas but they didn't survive very long.  As to why they're here in the first place - unknown.
The Presidential Palace itself was closed - apparently the President was in residence this weekend.

We forwent the local transport option unfortunately as the local market was only a few minutes walk around the corner.

The Bogor market:

Everywhere you turn, there's happy smiley people who love having their photo taken.

Well practised hands chop chooks in the uncomfortable heat

Wasn't quite prepared for this stand.....I think I might go veggie from here..remember it's about 32 degrees; how many bacteria can you count?

More happy people:

This cutie seemed quite fascinated by the 3 bule with cameras
Of course, no story is complete without the photogenic kids.

After the market we went to the Bogor Botanical Gardens.  To be honest, they weren't very interesting - perhaps we went to the wrong areas.
Whilst wondering around, however, we were approached several times by students wanting to practice their English.
