One of the places we stopped at was a Chinese Temple:

Inside was very ornate:
All very impressive stuff. Figuring we'd seen it all, we made our way outside and were about to head off towards the Indian temple, when a friendly old Chinese gentlemen made our acquaintance.
He asked if we'd seen the 10,000 Buddha's, to which we replied to the negative.
"Oh, you must see", he says proudly, "Come, I show you"
So we're led back inside and up some stairs and to a lift. It seems there's four additional floors accessible to the general public!
The 10,000 Buddha's are small statues, individually numbered. It seems you may "adopt" any of these, for a fee of course, in the hope it brings you luck and prosperity.
Then we taken on a tour of the Buddha history, with examples from various parts of the world. Each of the corners (North, South, East West) is 'guarded':

We were also taken to a special area to view a 32kg solid gold Buddha donated by a local business man in the hope of attaining favour in the afterlife - it was truly a sight to behold, but being a sacred area we weren't allowed to take photographs.
The luck of bumping into that Chinese man led us to a treasure trove of artifacts that we would have otherwise missed. How lucky are we?
